Michael M. Bowers, age 59, passed away November 11, 2019 in Castle Rock, CO. He was born in Herkimer, NY, on August 19, 1960 to parents, Terence B. Bowers and Eleanor Price Kutulas, later divorced. Raised by his single mom, along with his siblings, Terry Bowers (deceased August 29, 2010), Sheila Castillo (Cris), Tim Bowers (Denise), Mike was a funny, loving son and brother. He loved sports and played baseball and football during his younger years in Herkimer. He was an avid NY Yankee fan all of his life. He graduated from Ilion High School, Ilion, NY, and moved to Salt Lake City, Utah, where he was employed with the County of Salt Lake as a heavy equipment operator for 20+ years. Due to an automobile accident in 2002, Mike suffered a traumatic brain injury. His mother, Eleanor, was his full time caregiver for over 17 years, until his health took a turn for the worse in March of 2019. He was then cared for by the wonderful staff at Brookside Inn and Compassus Hospice, as well as the medical staff of Castle Rock Adventist Hospital. We will forever be grateful for their kind and loving hearts. Mike leaves behind his mom, sister, and brother, along with son, Michael Bowers, (Bethany) CA; daughter, Ashley Williams (Jake) WY; daughter, Blair Snyder, (Justin) WY; and son, Chris Gaskill (Angela) UT; 15 beautiful grandchildren, and numerous wonderful nieces and nephews. The kids! My favorite memory of childhood is when the kids would come over on weekends. Terry, Mike, Sheila and Tim. But all of us combined, ended up being 8 siblings! Bridget was not yet born in this photo, but she combined the two families together. She was Mike's sister, and I was a step, but I felt like a blood sibling to all of the Bowers kids. I loved Mike, as I loved all of the Bowers. xo...and I will never forget.

My memories of my brother Mike are limited. as I moved away from him when I was just four years old.
My summer visits to NY in my youth included visits with him at Aunt Kathy’s. Playing Cards were often involved.
My love for my brother is no more or less than anyone’s. It just is. Love.

All my memories of Mike include his big beautiful smile and warm heart. Although one time when we thought Timmy had run away and all went looking- that day he showed much concern. He was blessed to have great family to care for and love him throughout the good times and his illness. He lives now as an angel to you all.

I have a flood of memories in my brain from my dad. I won’t share all of them other than the one that stands out the most. It was a chill Saturday morning in my early teens and you made me watch a movie called “the breakfast club” (amazing movie) and you wouldn’t stop talking to the point I missed the whole thing. Of course I watched it again later that night but I’ll never forget how much I needed your interruption at that time. You reminded me of the character that portrayed Bender, and to this day I always pictured you as him. You will always be a thought in the back of my mind that can’t be erased. I’m sorry we missed so many years together, but I love you from the bottom of my heart. I always have and always will!

Mike was funny and sweet. He was always singing and making up stories. He told everyone that he played for the Yankees, because that was a dream of his before he was brain injured. When he was a boy, he had one heck of an arm as pitcher & short stop. I never missed a game of his- he was awesome! I will miss his millions of questions, funny laugh, silly songs, and Eskimo kisses, and so much more. There was so much to love about Mike, and I will forever be grateful to God for being his sister. He surely blessed my heart.
