Michael Gerard Schultz, age 67 of Monument, Colorado, passed away peacefully on Sunday afternoon September 14, 2025, due to complications with cancer. He was born January 11,1958 in Chicago, Illinois, a son to the late Arthur and Helen Schultz as the youngest of four children. He is survived by his sisters Karen Schultz Cauffield, Judy Smith, and sister-in-law Catherine Koenig Schultz, spouse of his late brother Arthur Schultz.
Michael is also survived by his loving wife Linda of 44 years; three sons and daughters-in-law: Michael & Carrisa Schultz, Matthew & Ambree Schultz, Markus & Meaghan Schultz; and his 15 beautiful grandchildren: Keiley, Luke, Caleb, Mason, Ryan, Kellan, Charlotte, Ethan, Levi, Mackenzie, McKayla, Keira, Kristi, Karlee, and Kolbie.
Michael was a devoted husband, a loving father, a caring grandfather, and a man of deep Catholic faith. His unwavering devotion to his wife, Linda, and their family reflected his belief in living a Christ-centered life. Together, Michael and Linda shared a marriage rooted in love, faith, and partnership—an example to all who knew them.
Michael was a spirited and passionate man who loved to have deep conversations with those around him. An amazing communicator, storyteller and salesman, he began his career in sales and business development after receiving his business management degree from the University of Wisconsin at Green Bay. From there he led multiple sales teams for technology companies across the country.
Some of his greatest joy came from spending time with his wife and three sons. They created many memories while enjoying camping and fishing in Northern Wisconsin, exploring the mountains of Colorado, and more baseball games, football games, and wrestling meets than he could count. He was there for all of them and never missed an opportunity to support his sons.
He had a great love of entertaining and celebrating over food and great barbecue. His passion for serving others was best exemplified in the great food he would cook for those around him. Eventually that great love of food and cooking grew into a business that he would build with his wife and three sons. Michael, through his commitment and determination, turned what started as a kitchen table conversation into a nationwide brand.
Michael will be remembered as a man of faith, a man of family, and a man of great love. His legacy will live on in the lives of those he touched.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, September 22nd at St. Peter Catholic Church beginning with a Rosary at 10:30 followed by Mass at 11am in Monument, Colorado. Rite of Committal will follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery at Our Lady of the Visitation Catholic Parish in Kiowa, CO. The family will receive friends at the Schultz Family Home in Monument, CO at 4pm.
