Dr. Mossayeb “Mohammed” Jamshid, 85, of Castle Rock, Colorado, passed away on September 10, 2025. He was born in Arak, Iran, on October 14, 1939. Mohammed came to the United States and was very proud of the doctorate he earned from the University of Colorado. He was passionate about astronomy, which was reflected in his career as a professor of physics and astronomy at Florida Southern College.
Mohammed was an avid walker, but his true joy was found in spending time with family and friends. He married Maria Teresa Seceñas on January 20, 1969. Together they had two sons, Jon and David.
Mohammed is survived by his wife of 56 years, Maria Teresa; sons Jon and David Jamshid; grandchildren Dylan Cisneros, Olivia Jamshid, Veronica Jamshid, Elisia Jamshid, Kayvon Jamshid, and Kaley Jamshid; and brothers and sisters Mehdi, Ahmad, Mojgan, Hassan, Yusef, and Masudeh.
