Nancee Dolores (Pratt) Carpenter was born in East Saint Louis, Illinois on September 29th 1938. She passed away suddenly on August 3rd 2025, at the Denver Hospice. Nancee was 86 years old and just weeks away from her 87th birthday.
On November 26th 1960, she married Richard E. Carpenter in East St. Louis, Illinois. This November, Nancee and Richard would have celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary.
She is survived by her husband, Richard E. Carpenter; her sons, Christopher Carpenter and John Carpenter; her daughters, Jill C. Harrell and Beth Boreczky; daughter-in-law, Mary Carpenter, her son-in-law, David Harrell and her brother Donald Pratt. She is also survived by several grandchildren: Dawn Lee (Kyle Lee), John Carpenter Jr, Caitlin Carpenter, Nathan Carpenter, Austin Boreczky (Haley Boreczky), Casey Boreczky, Caitlin Blair (Tanner Blair), and Carson Harrell; and her great grandchildren: Aspen Hunter, Ronin Lee, Emery Blair, Ellie Blair, and Emily Boreczky.
Nancee began her career as a teacher in a private elementary school and later worked in special education classrooms after getting married and starting a family. After relocating to Castle Rock, CO, she spent 15 years working in the County Assessor’s office before retiring.
Nancee was deeply involved in her church community. She served as a Christian youth counselor, marriage counselor, greeter, and a dedicated member of the church board. She was especially passionate about her Bible study groups, where she nurtured lifelong friendships and continued her lifelong pursuit of understanding the Word of God.
Nancee was known for her deep love of Jesus and her devotion as a prayer warrior. She loved her family and friends fiercely and unconditionally. A natural conversationalist, Nancee had a gift for connecting with people and seemed to befriend everyone she met.
Her favorite topics of conversation were how her family and loved ones were doing, what prayers they needed— and, of course, the weather. We often teased her that she had missed her true calling to be a weather forecaster.
Visitors rarely left her home without sharing a cup of tea or joining her for a game of dominos or Farkle, two of her favorites. She was also a talented artist who painted beautiful oil landscapes and floral scenes, which filled the walls of her home with warmth and color.
Nancee’s memorial service will take place at Olinger Andrews Caldwell Gibson Chapel, 407 Jerry St. Castle Rock, CO on Friday, August 8th at 10:00 am with a reception to follow.
If interested in sending flowers, please deliver to Olinger Andrews, 407 Jerry St. Castle Rock, CO 80104 by 9:00 a.m. on Friday, August 8, 2025.
