

Rev. Nevin Keith Bass, 65, of 845 S Lindsey St, Castle Rock, CO, passed away on August 20th, 2024. He was born in Pineville, LA, on November 4th,1958. Nevin graduated from Kelso Twin Cities High School and attended Texas Bible College in Houston, TX, and Zion Ministerial Institute, where he graduated with a bachelors in theology. He was married to Tammy Renee Townsend on May 29th,1982, in Nicholasville, KY.
Nevin taught himself programming in three different languages and worked as an IT programmer for several firms for many years as a consultant. Most recently, he worked as an employee of Revenue Enterprises in Aurora, CO. Nevin founded and pastored the Apostolic Temple in Castle Rock, which later became the Church of Pentecost on December 31st, 1983.
Nevin was the author of four books: Building God's Wall, Stepping Stones, Redeeming the Bride, Kingdom Concepts, and he was working on a fifth book on Job. He owns On the Rock Publishing. He was a prolific Bible teacher, and his materials have been taught all over the world.
In previous years, Nevin had a passion for fly fishing and taught many the art of fly fishing. In recent years, he has had a passion for bike riding and has finished many gravel bike races and triathlons, including a full IRONMAN 2023 in Tempe, Arizona, at the age of 63 and a 70.3 IRONMAN in Boulder, CO in 2023.
He is survived by his wife Tammy Townsend Bass, children: Jonathan Donald Bass, Castle Rock, Rebekah Liane Priest, Castle Rock, Benjamin Nevin Bass (Michala Davis Bass), Puyallup, WA and Cheyenne Qing Bass, Castle Rock, grandchildren: Aspen Marie Priest and Felicity Lavender Bass. He is also survived by his brother, Samuel Bass, sister, Ramona Bass, and sister, Chelly Bass Tuneberg (Barry Tuneberg). His grandson, Caleb Zander Bass, joins him in their Heavenly home.
Visitation will be Monday, August 26, 2024 from 6:00-9:00PM at Olinger Andrews Caldwell Gibson Chapel, Castle Rock. Funeral service will be at 12:00PM on Tuesday, August 27 at Church of Pentecost in Castle Rock, with a time of visitation from 11:00am until the time of service. Interment will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
