

Norma Mae Nixon, 72, of Castle Rock, Colo. passed away February 13, 2018, surrounded by family. She is the daughter of Ted and Ruth Boyer of Oklahoma City, Okla. A funeral mass will be held at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Castle Rock, February 17 at 2:00 p.m. Norma’s brother, Father Thomas Boyer, will preside and long-time friend, Father James Hackett, will be the Homilist.
Norma was born on November 18, 1945 in St. Louis, Missouri. Her life of adventure took her to Indianapolis, Oklahoma City, Honolulu, Frankfurt, Alameda, the Denver Metro area and Naples, Fla. As a daughter, sister, wife, cousin, mother, mother-in-law and grandmother she was cherished by her family who call her a treasured confidant, second Mom, entertainer/ hostess, horse show mom, self -appointed Boss, therapist, cheerleader, home designer, nurse, baker, gardener, coach and comedian. To name a few.
In her 35 years of work as a teacher Norma was described as a leader, writer, book lover, mentor, a constant corrector of grammar and life-long friend.

Norma is survived by her husband, David, her brother, Thomas Boyer, her daughter, Audrey and husband Sam Potts with their sons, Jonah and Liam; her daughter, Hilary and husband Robert Dehn.
