Born on October 23, 1940 in White Lake, Wisconsin, he is survived by his sister Rachel and brother Phil; all preacher kids of John & Frances Timm, deceased. Relocating often during childhood, the family reached Shawano, Wisconsin. Here, Paul was a member of the State High School Championship basketball teams in 1956 and 1957. From there, Paul went on to attend and play hoops at North Central Bible College (now NCU).
Shortly after, Paul met Rita and relocated to Colorado. If you've stayed in a townhome, condo, or apartment in our mountains, there is a good chance Paul Timm put up the drywall.
Focusing on drywall jobs, they also built dozens of homes in Douglas and Elbert counties. Paul and Rita opened Paul Timm Construction and remained in business for over 40 years.
Rita was Paul's partner and caretaker for over 55 years. Without Rita, Paul admittedly could not have found his way to the golf course, let alone be dressed halfway decent.
Paul's passions included golf, travel, music, gardening, soccer, and attending local high school sporting events.
Sometime in the 1990's, Paul with a few buddies (Herschel Pickett, Carl Alexander, Bill Hanschmidt) had the idea to play golf and start doing something good for charity. Today, the charity known as the Parker Golf Association, with over 50 members, has raised close to $250,000 for local families in need. The Parker Golf Association has been named Colorado's "Club of the Year" each of the last four years by the Colorado Golf Association.
Survived by his wife Rita; children Brent, Debbie, Brian, Deena, Brandi; seven grandchildren; and one great grandson.
Whether in person or on his phone, Paul greatly enjoyed keeping in touch with his friends and family. If you are reading this, odds are he spoke to you recently. Without a doubt, you were important to him. The family thanks you for being his friend and sharing in his life!
An open house celebration of Paul's life will be Saturday, January 11, 2025 from 1:00-4:00pm at the Pinery Country Club in Parker.
