Rich was born and raised in San Pedro, California. In 1962 he joined the United States Navy as a Hospital Corpsman and served with honor attached to the U.S. Marine Corps until 1968.
In 1968 Rich married the love of his life, Theresa Ann. They were married 50 years.
They have two children, Richard (Jennifer) Caudle III and MaryBeth (David) Caudle-Brooks; six grandchildren, Autumn, Jacob, Allison, Kennedy, Mackenzie and Samantha.
Rich worked as a Maintenance Mechanic for 43 years at Reynolds Metal Company (later, Ball Corporation) in Torrance, California.
Rich leaves behind siblings, Larry John Caudle, Deborah Jean Caudle and several nieces and nephews.
