Robert Lee Barnes of Afton, Wyoming passed away on August 23, 2017. He was born in Ashland County, Wisconsin on June 21, 1945. He is survived by his daughter, Rael (Danny) Reddick, granddaughter, Emelie Reddick, brother, Bill (Patsy) Barnes and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Barnes is being laid to rest at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver, Colorado. Robert was revered as one of the best helicopter pilots to ever fly. His accomplishments were many. He first took flight in the U.S. Army flying Hueys in Vietnam. Feeling the need to stretch his wings further he left the military to pursue what became a life in the air, rich with adventure. Adventure (definition); verb – engage in hazardous & exciting activity – especially the exploration of unknown territory. This definition sums up Bob! From Alaskan pipelines, critical patients in Flight For Life & movie stunts to flying rock stars and foreign dignitaries and so much more in between. If Bob was involved, you knew there would be adventure. He lived his life to the fullest to the very end. He had a life that will be unmatched by any other.
