Robert James Beam

Robert “Bob” James Beam passed away peacefully at Garden Terrace Alzheimer Center in Colorado on June 27, 2026. He was 85 years old. Bob was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and a dear friend to many. He loved the Lord and would often quote scripture and sing hymns to pass the time. He also enjoyed sailing, golfing, tinkering on cars, woodworking, serving in his church and Sunday naps on the floor with his beloved cats.

Bob was born April 13, 1941, in Sweetwater, Texas to Jesse Lee and Rena (Oden) Beam. Bob graduated from Odessa High School in 1959 and went on to study at Odessa College, The University of Texas in Austin, Texas and earned his Masters in Physical Chemistry from North Carolina State in Raleigh, North Carolina. It was at Odessa College where he met his loving wife, Paula Eubanks. Bob was a Student Teacher in a Biology lab that Paula attended.

Bob and Paula were married on August 27, 1967, in Odessa, Texas and were the parents of Jeannie (Beam) Reddan. Bob was an extremely proud grandfather of Tanner (23), Hannah (20), and Cooper (17) Reddan. He loved being active and taking his grandchildren on his outdoor adventures, whether it was hiking Castle Rock with Tanner, Zip Lining at the MAC with Hannah or hiking the trails in Castle Rock with Cooper.

Bob worked as a Chemical Engineer at Dow Chemical in Freeport, Texas and later moved to Dow Headquarters in Midland, Michigan. He retired from Dow Chemical after 25 years of service and went on to teach computer coding classes at Delta College. For fun, Bob taught himself to write computer code and became certified in several coding languages. He ended his career working in the accounting department of Delphi in Flint and Saginaw, Michigan.

Bob is survived by his daughter Jeannie (Jim) Reddan, and his three grandchildren, Tanner, Hannah and Cooper; his brother Danny (Peggy) Beam; sister Vicky (Steve) Trusdle; nephews Michael and Lucas Trusdle; and many cousins. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his wife Paula.
