Robert Lee Grieser Sr., 87, of Castle Rock, Colorado, passed away peacefully on October 24, 2025. Born on March 20, 1938, in Jenera, Ohio, Robert was raised on the family farm alongside his ten siblings, who instilled in him a strong work ethic and deep family values.
Robert pursued higher education at Valparaiso Technical Institute before being commissioned in the U.S. Navy in November of 1960. He served honorably as a Naval Aviator, demonstrating dedication and skill throughout his service. After his distinguished military service, he transitioned to civilian life, embarking on a 34-year career with United Airlines, retiring as a Senior Captain.
Robert shared 30 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Barbara, creating a legacy of love and commitment. He is survived by his three adult children Robert Jr., Kimberly, and Stephanie; one cherished granddaughter, Izabella; and several step-grandchildren who lovingly called him Papa Bob. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Van Michael.
A man of integrity, service, and devotion to family, Robert's life was marked by his passion for aviation, star gazing and astronomy, as well as model train and shipbuilding and an unwavering loyalty to those he loved.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Olinger Andrews Caldwell Gibson Chapel, located at 407 Jerry St, Castle Rock, Colorado, 80104. The service is scheduled for November 10, 2025, starting at 10:00 am.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Tunnel to Towers Foundation, the Wounded Warrior Project, of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Robert's honor.
