

Robert Caulfield Higgins, “Bob”, age 51, of Castle Pines, Colorado, passed peacefully on December 8th, 2025, after a resilient struggle with cancer at home. He was surrounded by family and loved ones, and he inspired us all with his unwavering spirit.
Bob was born on March 21st, 1974, to William Lewis Higgins and Judith Carol Higgins in San Diego California at Mercy Hospital.
Bob attended Patrick Henry High School and graduated in 1992, obtaining his high school diploma. He worked for AMC Theaters in San Diego as an usher and loved action and adventure movies. He had a long and successful career with the San Diego Zoo as a Grounds Keeper and found his favorite animals to be the elephants and reptiles that lived at the zoo. He would visit them regularly during his workdays.
He especially loved running into the friends he grew up with and their families while working there, often coming home with stories about who he had seen and how life had treated them, sharing each one with contagious enthusiasm and a sparkle in his eyes. Bob never shied away from a challenge and loved camping, fishing, riding ATVs, skiing, gaming, and unwinding with his favorite TV shows, especially Chicago PD.
Robert Caulfield Higgins is survived by his loving family; Catherine Higgins, brother John Higgins (Vicky) of Texas and their children Jack and Amanda, brother Mike Higgins of Iowa, sister Carole Stafford (Bob) of California and their children Angela and Laura, and brother Jeffrey Thornton (Vanessa) of Colorado and their children Josef (Makayla), Tyler, and Layla.
He was preceded in death by his parents William Lewis Higgins and Judith Carol Higgins.
Cemetery committal service will be held Friday, March 20th at 11:00 a.m., at Ft. Logan National Cemetery, which is located at 3698 S. Sheridan Blvd, Denver, CO 80235. We will be gathering at the "Blue" staging area within the cemetery.
