I have many fond memories of you Grandpa; turkey sausages on the grill with bread and mustard, our talks, lays potato chips, you hiding money in Easter eggs. you helping me with my science project, reading to you, sharing with you happy news, and so much more. Grandpa thank you for believing in and thinking the world of me. I will miss you, I love you Grandpa!

Oh how bitter sweet a goodbye can be. I'm so happy my grandpa is in a new life with no more pain, but what a hole he has left. What a precious soul, a sweet love and a soft heart you possessed. I love you grandpa, more than my inadequate words could ever express. I'll forever hold you in my heart, I'll carry you with me wherever I may go. May God lead you to softer beds, sweeter flowers, prettier birds and healing that makes you new. I'll see you one day; you can wait for me at the gates with pickles and Cheez-It's and I can hear you call me "bebe" once again. Thank you for you're life; you gave us all quite a ride and quite the love; quite the mom and grandma as well... That's for sure. May you finally be at a peaceful rest and may you finally be free from all life's burdens and aches. We will remember you for the rest of our days and we will take care of all those who were precious to you. I miss you now and always, always. I love you so much.

It has now hit me that my grandfather has passed probably because I'm back home in CO and I can't go downstairs to give him a hug...I love this man. He loved me and liked me more than I ever liked myself. He always taught me something new every time I talked to him. What a blessing.

Our families have been far apart for most of our lives but we always had a special connection. I have memories of Uncle Bob driving 5 kids with a  dog on the roof; I remember times at their house and Uncle Bob making the dog talk on the phone. :)  I especially enjoyed the conversation we shared in July of 2012.  I wish we would have had opportunities to share more.  I send my love to Aunt Ruth Ann and all my cousins.  His work here is done and may he find eternal peace.

Robert Kistner: Not enough room here to say what a great man he was. His work with FEMA within the state of Colorado will not be forgotten any time soon. Estes park in particular regarding the 1982 flood.

To Bob Kistner and his awesome Family:
The loss of Bob is a huge loss for the world, for our country, for our local community, of course family and friends. I considered Bob a mentor and even a second father to me, we shared many times of laughter and hard work but I believed he was one of the few "Good Guys" (white hat heroes) left in the world. He was a man of principal,values and character beyond measure but most of all it was honored to call him a "great friend." I will miss his direct advice, honesty and his unforgettable wink... Bob you made it to Jesus first but we know you are with us to help bring more of us to the best seats in the house.

I was always proud to be Bob's brotherinlaw and have pleasant memories of former good times.  It was good being able to visit with him in June last year.  I remember the time he and I purchased a used car at the Denver airport and his famous basset hound in Iowa!

Our hearts are deeply saddened here today on this earth.  My first thoughts were wishing my father (John Sr.) was still here, as I know he would physically be here in this place with all our families.  Then I thought, Dad must have welcomed his brother in open arms, as he joined the rest of his sisters and brothers once again.   The five of them are together now, watching over our families, in peace from past sickness and physical pains of our earthly homes.  

Uncle Bob, I always admired your love of family, incredible talents and heart for other people.  As long as I can remember you were always helping others enjoy their lives, putting them at ease, creating security and peace of mind for events out of their control in life.   You can rest easy now, we'll take it from here, continuing in your legacy.

We have lost a great American and a friend to Colorado communities impacted by natural disasters over a twenty plus year period.  Bob will also be remembered for his work to mitigate natural hazards, and to education communities on how to accomplish these measures.  I will lift up his family in my prayers.

I am sorry for your loss!!! I will keep you in my prayers through this difficult time!!!

Bob was a great friend. He taught me many things at work and about other activities. We laughed a lot, often at ourselves. Never a dull moment with Bob. We will always have great memories of him.
