Bob was born in Detroit, Michigan - March 5th, 1938, son of Edmund and Matilda Knappe. By the age of 14, Bob’s musical ability had already started to shine as he had become a proficient accordion player and began teaching accordion lessons as his very first business venture. Bob attended Michigan State University where he studied Accounting. He moved to Colorado in 1960, and started working as an accountant, as well as entertaining people with his singing and musical skills after work as a second job. He soon utilized his talent for business and accounting and began a lifetime of business adventures. More importantly, with the people he touched, and relationships he made, he taught us how to love and forgive, and that even when things didn’t go well, not to give up. He never did.
He enjoyed playing his accordion or sitting at the Piano performing impromptu sing a-longs, sometimes in hotels, restaurants, or places far away. Wherever there was a Piano, if you were with Bob you better be ready to sing.
Bob also loved spending time with his family and friends. He adored his pets, was a big fan of the great outdoors, and enjoyed traveling to new places.
He is survived by two brothers, Ed and Don; his wife, Cheryl; 5 children, Bobby, Boni, Becky, Beverly and Tricia; 12 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents Edmund and Matilda Knappe along with two sons, Todd Knappe and William Knappe.
