

He grew up in Sugar House, Utah outside of Salt Lake City. His family moved to Littleton, CO his senior year of high school, where he graduated from Littleton High School. After graduation, Rod joined the Navy as an Aviation Structural Mechanic Fighter Squadron UF114. He served on the USS Kitty Hawk Aircraft Carrier CU-63 in Vietnam. Rod was a true patriot and enjoyed serving his country.
He then went on to college and received his BSME Mechanical Engineering Business Degree from CU/Metro State University. Finishing with his Masters Degree Years Later. Rod worked for Lockheed Martin for many years as a Senior Aerospace Engineering Manager. He went on to become Chief Mechanical Engineer for the Department of Defense 460 CES/CEOE Buckley Air Force Base. Rod retired as the Energy Manager with Facilities Management for the U.S Department of Veterans Affairs with the Rocky Mountain Regional VA Medical Center.
Rod Received many awards thru his career including:
-National Recognition for Leadership for the Department of Veterans Affairs Sustainability.
-Category III Civilian of the Year (Buckley AFB)
-Department of Performance Award (Buckley AFB)
-Outstanding Engineer (Lockheed Martin)
-Performance Shuttle Launch Award (lockheed Martin)
Rod enjoyed life, spending time with his Wife, children and grandchildren. He loved the outdoors with camping in the early years. Family vacations were always important for him to all be together. It pleased him so much to have family gatherings at the house and cook up a feast. He created many fond memories for our family. There were a few dogs thru the years that were always by his side; Doug, Toby and Max. Max is still here and we can tell he misses Rod.
Rod loved spending time in his garage puttering around. He enjoyed making things with all his many tools. He could fix anything!
He had a passion for cars and motorcycles. Bandimere Speedway race track was a place he enjoyed watching the drag races. Motorcycles were a big joy in his life. As he would say he loved the wind blowing in his face. There were many fun motorcycle rides thru the years. Sturgis South Dakota and surrounding towns being one of them.
Rod was a member of the American Legion with the Castle Rock Post 1187, Castle Rock, Colorado. Also a member of the American Legion Riders.
Rod was preceded in death by his father Alton White and mother Ione White. Also two brothers Don and Jim White.
He is survived by his wife, Carol White; children: Marcy Hebbelinck, Justin White and Tyra White; grandchildren: Jaxon, McKinley, one more expected in September, Linden, Sebastian, Belen and Issey;
brother Richard White and his three nieces: Bonnie, Kathy and Diane.
A Reception will be held after the Service at Fort Logan at a Family home with details to be located at the service at Olinger Andrews Caldwell Gibson Chapel.
