Ronald Edward Schaffner

Ronald Edward Schaffner of Chicago, Illinois and Castle Pines, Colorado, passed away on February 6, 2025, at the age of 89 in Castle Pines, Colorado. Ron was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on December 18, 1935.

He graduated from Butler University and was awarded an MBA degree from the University of Chicago. He was married on April 19, 1998, to Karen Crown in Chicago, Illinois. Ron’s career path took him to the US Army in France, then later banking and business in Europe and the United States.

He and Karen had a love match of 26 years. Ron’s warm personality embraced travel, classical music, reading, crossword puzzles, and laughter with his wife. He adored all of his cats, his most recent loyal companion, Madi Madi.

Ron’s three children Kimberly (Greg) Tucker, Debbie Grove, David Schaffner, as well as his grandson Joshua Schaffner, all reside in Illinois; his stepchildren include Laurie (Rick Ortega) Crown, Donna Crown, Bruce (Deborah) Crown, Bradley and Karin Crown. Also included are his step grandchildren Cameron, Cassandra (Jorge), Nicholas (Desta), Chrystina (Nathan), and Cody; step great grandchildren Armando, Roganna, Gael, Barrett, Maggie, and Emiliano - all round out his loving family.
