Sandy was a loving wife, mother, sister, daughter, friend, and basset hound enthusiast.
She was born in Whittier, California on January 20th, 1967 to Ann and Bud Orr. Shortly after, they moved to Aurora, Colorado where her brother, Jeff, and sister, Kathy, were born.
Sandy graduated from Rangeview High School in 1985. She was an active student who studied hard, swam competitively, played music in orchestra, participated in cheer, and acted as Senior Class President. She made many friends during her childhood and often looked back fondly upon the memories they made together.
After graduation, Sandy attended the University of Colorado Boulder where she met her husband, Michael. They were married in Denver, Colorado on December 21st, 1987, and had three wonderful children; Alyssa, Amanda, and Alex born in 1992, 1995, and 1997 respectively. In 1991, she graduated with a Bachelors in Business Administration (from UNC Pembroke) then earned a Masters in Special Education (from CU Colorado Springs) two years later marking the beginning of her long teaching career.
A caring mother, loving wife, and devoted teacher, Sandy lived and worked many places supporting her husband’s military career. She spent time in Colorado, Georgia, North Carolina, Hawaii, Kansas, Tennessee, and Australia. Through good and bad, Sandy loved the adventures she had, students she taught, and friends she made along the way.
In her spare time, she enjoyed traveling, reading, baking, spending time with her friends and family, and caring for her furbabies. She will be greatly missed.
There will be a gathering to celebrate her life at a later date.
