Sarah Eckert Brady

September 6, 1959September 29, 2020

Sarah Eckert Brady, age 61, of Castle Rock, Colorado passed away on Tuesday, September 29, 2020.

Sarah was born September 6, 1959 in Indianapolis, Indiana. Sarah "Mouse" Eckert grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where she learned to bleed Black & Gold (Go Steelers!). She was married in Pittsburgh on April 20th, 1985 to the love of her life Patrick Brady, and has spent the last 35 years moving between Connecticut, Massachusetts, New York, and Georgia until she landed in Colorado. She has gained many friends along the way, and so often said that "Travel is my Hobby." Those that knew her knew she lived a spunky, quick-witted, and positive life. We will always remember her at home with her family, on the back of a motorcycle, drinking a glass of red wine, watching the Steelers, on the beaches of Cape Cod and sharing the gift of kindness to everyone around her.

Sarah was battling colon cancer for 10 years with resilience, hope, and unwavering faith in Christ. Throughout her journey she continued to do the things she loved, including being with her family, and never focused on herself and her disease, but took care of everyone around her. "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord. Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart." - Jeremiah 29:11-13.

Sarah was the most incredible wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, grandmother, and friend. Surviving relatives include her husband, Patrick Brady, son, Alex Brady, and daughter, Hannah Brady; sisters Carol Fuchella, and Jean Eckert-Dobbs; brother Stephen Eckert; and many other friends and family.

I am heartbroken to hear the news of Sarah’s passing. My deepest sympathies to Pat, Alex, and Hannah.
I have so many fun memories of Sarah from the days in Fairport watching our boys play basketball. It was such a pleasure being with the entire Brady family during those days. We were all sad when they moved away but I will always remember Sarah and her wonderful family❤️

We are heartbroken over the loss of Sarah and are keeping her family and friends - especially PB, Hannah, Ben, Alex, Em, and Maevey - close in our thoughts and hearts. Sarah's joie de vivre and incredible generosity will serve as an example to for the rest of our lives. We were always so touched by her welcoming us into the Brady family with trips, cards, gift and treats for Freddy, and fun plans together whenever we visited Colorado. We love her - and you all - very, very much!

We were saddened to hear of Sarah's passing. She was such a kind, warm hearted and inclusive friend, who always had positive words for others. She succeeded in making everyone feel welcomed. I met Sarah 10 years ago at Bell Mtn. Book Club and we both happily realized we were neighbors on High Spring Rd. Gone too soon! Our thoughts and prayers are with her family.

Visits to see Emily and Brady always included quality time with Sarah. Sarah generously welcomed us and her children's many friends into her community, and was always eager to celebrate the people in it, especially the new babies. I'll always appreciate and admire her.

Sending all my love to you Hannah, Brady, Em and PB

My heart broke this morning when I heard of Sarah’s passing. The love she had for her family....
What a sweet woman.
Sarah, since our EBA travel days, every time I see a coffee maker in a hotel room, I remember you: “I can’t drink bathroom coffee”. You were the 1st person I know who appreciated good coffee.
My love and thoughts go out to PB, Hannah, Alex and wife and your beautiful baby.
