

Stanley E. Dove, 87, of Castle Rock passed away at the Belleview Heights Memory Care Center in Aurora on August 6. He was born June 27, 1929 in Crawford, CO. He was raised by his grandparents Grant and Ina Dove and graduated from Crawford High School in 1947. He enlisted in the U.S, Air Force.
Following his discharge in 1950 he married Dessa Hawker of Austin in November and they moved to Long Beach, CA where he was employed by Douglas Aircraft Company. While employed there for eight years he attended Long Beach City College obtaining a degree in electronics. In 1958 he accepted employment with the Martin Marietta Company in Waterton, CO. He remained with that firm until his retirement in 1989. A test engineer, Stanley designed electrical /electronic test procedure and equipment and conducted testing on airborne electrical units including the Titan I.C.B.M. missile that was the workhorse of the space program. This included testing on the lunar landing mission and other probes into the solar system.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dessa, in 2004, his mother Mamie Dove Rundle and step-father Robert Rundle of Austin, brothers Charles and Monte Rundle. He is survived by his son Tom (Judy) Dove of Brighton and daughter Debra (John) Noe of Cedaredge. He is also survived by twin brothers Garald (Jean) and Gerald (Judy) Rundle of Delta County, sister Velda (Bob) Wilburn of Louisiana, sister- in- law Peggy Rundle of Grand Junction and granddaughter Shay Lyn (Brandon) Karjola of Castle Rock and three great grandchildren.
Services will be held Wednesday, August 31 at the Cory Cemetery at 10 a.m. with a reception for family and friends at the Orchard City Town Hall beginning at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers please contribute to Hope West Hospice, P.O. Box 24, Delta, CO. 81416.
