

Quackenbush, Stephen Douglas; b April 6, 1960, in Washington DC d July 5, 2014 in Castle Rock, Colorado. He was a long time resident of Castle Rock, Colorado. Steve was a devoted family man who loved working on his ranch in Castle Rock, and working with the llama community, 4H, FFA, Boy Scouts and for his church.
Over his course of his career, he worked with Beneficial Bank, United Airlines, Galileo International, IBM (NYPD), and Sabre, specializing in TPF operating systems for mainframes as an Architect. He served as President of the TPF Users Group, superintendent of the National Western Stock Show Llama Show, a Scouting advisor for Troop 637, a 4H leader of the Llofty Llamas 4H club in Douglas County and an NRA shooting safety instructor. He is survived by his wife Shari and son Kurt of Castle Rock, daughters Tiffany of Lynnwood, WA, and Melissa Quackenbush Burke (Gregory) and their children Riley Elizabeth, Lucian Jace and Maximus Fallon of Elk Mountain, Wyoming, mother Joy Quackenbush of Matthews, NC, brothers Paul Quackenbush (Kim) of Apex, North Carolina and David Quackenbush (Susan)of River Vale, New Jersey, three nieces and two nephews. He was pre-deceased by his father Leon Douglas Quackenbush.
Services will be held on Friday, July 11, at 11:00 am at the Parker United Methodist Church in Parker, Colorado. A graveside service will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery; a reception will then be held at Kirk Hall on the Douglas County Fairgrounds.
