As a youth, Tegan was confirmed in the Lutheran Church and graduated Stevens Point Area Senior High School in Stevens Point, WI in 1991. Tegan obtained a bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point and went on to obtain a master’s degree from the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana and a second master’s degree from the University of Wisconsin at Madison. These degrees were all in the field of music and Tegan was an accomplished classical pianist. As an executive, Tegan obtained a Harvard Business School Executive Education degree from Harvard and a MIT Sloan Executive Education degree from MIT.
Tegan’s career began in the field of Information Technology at Harley Davidson. That career included a management position at Sentry Insurance in Stevens Point, WI, Associate Vice President at Nationwide Insurance in Columbus, OH, Vice President at HM Health Solutions- Highmark in Pittsburg, PA, Senior Vice President-OCIO & Infrastructure at Empower in Denver, CO, and Senior Vice President – Data, AI, Automation, Platforms at Canada Life in Toronto, Canada. These positions and responsibilities took Tegan all over the United States, and abroad to Canada and India.
Tegan married Paola Venegas Chacon, in May of 2008. They had a son, Adam, in 2010. Tegan is survived by both Paola and Adam, along with parents, John and Dorothy Rosenbaum, and sister Diane and her family.
Tegan loved animals (particularly pets Copper and Nyx), music, the outdoors, and most recently adventure motorcycling. As a child, Tegan would rise early and return with a catch of brook trout for breakfast. As an adult, Tegan fished the waters of Wisconsin and went on annual deer hunts. Family fishing trips to Canada were a favorite, as well as ATV riding.
A memorial gathering will be held in Colorado on Thursday 8/20 from 3 – 7 pm.
A memorial service will be held in Wisconsin at a later date to be determined. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be sent to the family, or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
