Terry Lisco, age 46, of Aurora Co, passed away February 22, 2019. He was born in Denver, Colorado on April 6, 1972 and graduated from Bennett High School in 1990. He attended T.H. Pickens Vocational School.
He worked in the carpentry field building houses and cabinets for several years. In 2003 he began working at Kubat Equipment, where he enjoyed the many friends that he made while working there for 13 years. Terry started working at The Pizza Shop in Strasburg when he was 16. He loved making the pizzas and coming up with new recipes. He continued working there off and on during the years managing it. In 2008 he had the opportunity to purchase the shop and continued working there when his health permitted.
Terry loved his animals. He grew up on a dairy farm in Bennett and learned what hard work was all about at an early age. His siblings and cousins would come out and stay at the farm with him, jumping in to help with the work. One of his chores was feeding the baby calves by bottle. One might think that’s cute, but when you are feeding 45 at a time, it’s quite a chore. He enjoyed all the activities that comes with living on a farm. Being around the horses, sheep, pigs and cows kept him busy.
Through the years, Terry was involved in many sports and activities. He enjoyed bowling, playing pool, shootin darts, softball, martial arts, and of course horseshoes. He traveled throughout the state playing in league tournaments and won the Jr. Championship of the Colorado Horseshoe Pitchers Association in 1986 and was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1993. Terry was a fan of Nascar, especially Dale Earnhardt and Dale Jr. His house is full of memorabilia. Terry and Dawn were able to attend the Nascar race in Phoenix and had a great time. Terry had his own dirt track car, racing at Rocky Mountain National Speedway and I 76 Dirt Track, and worked as a pit crew member for his friends Windy and Eric.
Terry thoroughly enjoyed his time at the lake. He loved being with family and friends. He could sit by the campfire for hours talking with everyone.
Terry is survived by his mom Vickie, dads Roland and Bill, former spouse Dawn, mother-in-law Sharon, 3 step-children that he loved and raised as his own: Kelly, Michaela and Spencer, along with grand-children; Rylan, Baily and Lillie, step-sisters Tema and Angela and step-brother Bryan, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and many others that loved him dearly.
Funeral arrangements will be held at New Hope Presbyterian Church at 10:00 am on March 4, 2019.
