

Thomas E. Ratts, age 85, passed away on March 8, 2026, at his home in Castle Pines, Colorado. A beloved and kind-hearted man, Thomas will be remembered with deep respect for a life marked by faithful service, compassionate care, and devoted love for family and others.
Born in Salem, Indiana on May 22, 1940, Thomas was the only son of Loran and Kathryn Ratts. He earned a BS from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana, and went on to receive his MD from the Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis, Indiana. He completed his Internal Medicine internship and residency at Parkland Hospital in Dallas, Texas, followed by a cardiology fellowship at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. He later specialized in echocardiology at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Memphis, Tennessee.
Thomas was an accomplished cardiologist whose hard-working, selfless dedication reflected both skill and calling. His life and work were inspirational to many, shaped by a steady commitment to caring for others.
Thomas was married for 60 years to Victoria Davis Ratts. He is survived by his children Lisa (Jason) Clark of Elizabeth, Colorado; Todd Ratts of Lake George, Colorado; and Eric (Tricia Curt) Ratts of Highlands Ranch, Colorado. He is also survived by his grandchildren Taylor (Colby) Bierl of Urbandale, Iowa; Katelyn (Douglas) Stinnett of Newalla, Oklahoma; Ashley Jennings of Elizabeth, Colorado; and Julianna Ratts and Joseph Ratts of Highlands Ranch, Colorado; step-grandchildren Riley Clark, Emma Clark, Noah Clark, and Sadie Clark; and great-grandchildren Miles Stinnett, Tucker Stinnett, and Lyla Jane Stinnett.
Adventurous in spirit and devoted in faith, Thomas found joy in traveling, being outdoors, and living out his faith in God. He also gave generously of his time and gifts through medical mission work in Belize, Guatemala, and Nicaragua, offering compassionate care to those in need.
A visitation will be held at Olinger Andrews Caldwell Gibson, 407 Jerry Street, Castle Rock, CO 80104, on March 20, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. A Funeral Service will follow at the same location from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The Graveside service will be held at Olinger Chapel Hill Mortuary & Cemetery, 6601 South Colorado Blvd, Centennial, CO 80121, US, on March 20, 2026, at 2:00 p.m.
