On Monday March 31, 2025, Bruce Theodore Ivins passed away peacefully, while surrounded by family, at 77 years of age. He was a loving husband to his wife of 56 years, Mary Jo, father to his two sons Chris (wife Sara) and Jeff (wife Krissie), and a wonderful grandfather to Liam and Kyle Ivins. Bruce was born and raised in Hampden MD, graduated from Baltimore City College, and worked long hours as a carpet and flooring salesman for many years to support his family. He was predeceased by his adoring parents, Ted and Elaine Ivins, as well as his loving in-laws Harvey and Mary Wirt. He is survived by many cousins, sisters-in-law, a brother-in-law, nieces and nephews, and friends.
Bruce was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and friend to all. He had a zest for life and his greatest joy was to spend time with family and friends. He had a fantastic sense of humor and loved to joke around and tell stories about the great times we shared vacationing in Ocean City, attending Ravens games, celebrating the holidays, and countless family events. He also enjoyed traveling with Mary Jo, including trips to New Orleans, Las Vegas, Florida, Mexico, and even Spain. He was always the life of the party and made everyone feel like family. He was the biggest supporter of the Ravens and rooted from the couch when he was not able to attend the games. He absolutely loved to tailgate (and eat) regardless of the cold, wind, rain, or snow. He touched the lives of so many people and he was a great role model to his sons, grandsons, and family. He will truly be missed by all.
A memorial celebration is scheduled for Saturday, 4/19/2025 at Kelsey's Irish Pub and Banquet Room from 12:00pm-3:00pm (8480 Baltimore National Pike, Ellicott City MD 21043). All are welcome to attend. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Bridging Life Dove House, 292 Stoner Avenue, Westminster MD 21157. BridgingLife Make a Gift | LifeBridge Health
