On Sunday morning, July 13th, our son Chase was involved in a serious auto accident. Over the next 48 hours his mother and I held hope above hope and prayed for a true miracle. Tragically Chase had sustained injuries that were unrecoverable. On Friday, July 18th Chase became a Hero Donor with Infinite Legacy and just 24 hours later, saved 5 lives. It seems he would end his life as he lived it, helping others.
Chase always lived his life in the earnest pursuit of experiences. He truly lived every moment to its fullest. We joked many times as a family that he “woke up 100% Chase and went to bed 100% Chase.” He enjoyed the outdoors camping, fishing, cycling and skateboarding. He was a fierce Hockey Player who loved the game and the competition. He lived for his time on the ice and barely made it through the off-season. If he was ever having a bad day, we had but to find a rink. Hockey brought him the greatest joy of his life.
He spent most of his free time in the company of his friends, who have reminded us of his big heart and his desire to help others. He was a champion of small children and animals everywhere and was always attempting to rescue a critter in need. He enjoyed his own, slightly off- brand humor. Which made many people laugh and only he truly understood. He worked tirelessly to meet his own goals and had his own convictions and beliefs. We are comforted that we were able to see the person he had become and were proud of the man he was becoming. We would like those that knew him to remember him as the tall fun-loving kid he was and let that memory be a smile you carry in your heart. He would not want you to remember him in sadness.
He is survived and loved by his parents Tracey and Kelby Draper, his brothers Cole and Logan, his grandparents Jim and Carolyn Armstrong, and Bob Draper and his life partner Gerri Ransom, his aunt and uncle Robyn and Doug Toth and their children Hayden, Riley and Lacey, his uncle and aunt Derek and Lisa Armstrong and their son Ronan, his uncle Bobby Draper, and uncle and aunt Jared and Nicole Draper and their children Noah, Jules and Neve. And many, many close friends and extended family.
A Memorial Service will be celebrated 3PM, Saturday, August 16 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church,929 Ingleside Ave, Catonsville, MD. A reception will follow in the Fellowship Hall
