Dolores (Terrie) McGill, the only child of the late McKinley Deans and Mary Irene Deans, was born in Baltimore, Maryland on April 13, 1936 and was Baptized at St. Peter Claver Church. Additionally, she attended St. Peter Claver Church and School, made her First Holy Communion and was Confirmed there.
As a child, Dolores nurtured countless homeless animals, but she had a special fondness for kittens and was a "cat person" throughout her entire life. Dolores completed her primary education at Douglass High School. She always had a strong faith base and a passion for helping others in need, which led her to pursue a career in nursing. She began nursing school at Henryton School for Nursing and ultimately earned a Master's Degree in Nursing from Johns Hopkins University. Dolores also attended St. Mary's College to became a Faith Community Nurse at the church she attended, St. Joseph Monastery, to care for her church family, a role she dedicated herself to for fifteen years.
Dolores leaves behind her devoted husband Albert of 58 years; four sons: (Rodney Kenneth Brown, Dwayne Renard Brown, Robin Maurice Joyner, all of whom have preceded her in death), and Sean Antoine McGill, her youngest son, who is alive and well; daughters-in-law: Angela Brown and Rachel McGill; six grandchildren: Derek, Devin, Dewayna, Dior, Michael, and Lexi-Renee; four great-grandchildren: Isaiah, Nyzhir, Mina, and Khadija; her Goddaughter Nicole; three very dear friends: Vicki Lynn Shockey, Natalie Tyson, and Jessie Vollmerhausen; a special cousin Sheila Spence and a host of other cousins, relatives, and friends
A visitation for Dolores will be held Friday, April 25, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Sterling Ashton Schwab Witzke Funeral Home of Catonsville, 1630 Edmondson Ave, Catonsville, MD 21228. A visitation will occur Friday, April 25, 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, 1630 Edmondson Ave, Catonsville, MD 21228. A Mass of Christian Burial will occur Saturday, April 26, 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at Saint Joseph's Monastery Parish, 3801 Old Frederick Rd, Baltimore, MD 21229. Burial will follow at New Cathedral Cemetery, 4300 Old Frederick Rd, Baltimore, MD 21229.
