Elaine Welch Wilbourne - Sawyer

On November 19, 2014 Elaine Welch Wilbourne – Sawyer passed away. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, three sisters and four brothers, her first husband Willard Wilbourne, and her late husband Allen J. Sawyer. Loving Aunt of Evelyn B. Elmer and husband Roger, Marshall P. Simpson and wife Glenda, Elizabeth S. Parrish and husband John, and Barbara N. Moody. She has a huge loving family of many nieces, nephews, their families, and many supportive friends.

Born in Roanoke Rapids, NC, she later moved to Florida, and for the majority of her life lived in Baltimore, MD. She studied at East Carolina University, Peabody Conservatory of Music, University of Maryland College Park, and University of Edinburgh, Scotland. Attended and was member of Christ Lutheran Church in Catonsville. She retired after 30 years of teaching from Baltimore County School System. After her full-time retirement she continued to substitute teach. A love of her life was teaching fourth grade children. She was an avid traveler.

Memorial services will be held at Sterling Ashton Schwab Witzke Funeral Home of Catonsville, Inc., 1630 Edmondson Ave., Catonsville, MD 21228 on Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at 11:30am, where guests are invited to visit at 11am. Inurnment Baltimore National Cemetery, 5501 Frederick Rd., Catonsville, MD 21228, on Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at 1pm.
