

Son of the late Emory Louis Morsberger and Charlotte Elizabeth Morsberger (nee Flock), he is survived by his beloved and loving wife of 57 years, Bernice Gertrude Morsberger (nee Carl), originally of Hagerstown, MD; four devoted children, Emory Lee Morsberger and wife Janet, of Lilburn, GA; Robert Carl Morsberger and wife Kimberly, of Catonsville; Christine Elise Morsberger of Catonsville and Ted Bauer of Baltimore; and Louis John Morsberger and wife Nancy, of Chevy Chase, MD; eleven grandchildren: Jennifer, Johanna, June, Julie, Jacquelyn, Jill, and Jamie Morsberger, of Lilburn, GA; Robert and Katelyn Morsberger of Catonsville; and Layne and John Morsberger, of Chevy Chase, MD; two loving sisters, Charlotte Gibbons of Catonsville and Dorothy Salas of Chula Vista, CA.; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, all whose company he so enjoyed, and to whom he gave so much joy throughout his life. Preceded in death by devoted brother Louis Phillip Morsberger, his longtime partner in various family ventures, including a development and construction business, and an historic family tavern. A graduate of the McDonough School and the University of Maryland, he served his country in the European Theater of Operations with the 289th Military Police Company. He was active in the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 7472, and American Legion Post 25/297. He was a member of the Palestine Lodge No. 189, and the Boumi Shrine, and a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason. He was also a longtime member of the Maryland Horse Breeders Association. In the 1970’s, he was elected to and served several years on the Maryland Democratic State Central Committee.
Relatives and friends may call at Sterling-Ashton-Schwab-Witzke Funeral Home at 1630 Edmondson Ave. in Catonsville (410) 744 8600 on Friday March 4 from 2 to 5 PM and from 7 to 9 PM. Services will be held at Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church at 905 Frederick Road in Catonsville on Saturday, March 5 at 10 AM. Interment will follow at Loudon Park National Cemetery in Baltimore. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Salem Lutheran Church at 905 Frederick Road, Catonsville, MD 21228.
