Joan was a classmate of mine @ Bon Secours School of Nursing. She was kind and considerate, always willing to lend a hand. The quote under her picture in the yearbook states "He who smiles rather than rages is always the stronger." I will always remember her smile.

Dear Sandy,
My parents and your grandparents (Goldie and Nick) were a part of a gang who ran around together in the 40’s and 50’s. My mother and your grandmother worked together at Montgomery Wards for years. I was born before your mother and knew her as a child, becoming reacquainted as adults in Catonsville. I shared a few old pictures of the “gang” with her not so long ago.
I’m so sorry about Joan’s passing but grateful to have known her in our adult years. My sympathy to you and all the family. Time was too short.

I was fortunate to share both high school years at IND and nursing school years at Bon Secours with Joan. She quietly grew in her professional, personal and volunteer life — always with dignity and grace.
In the few recent times we met she spoke lovingly of her family and her passion for flowers especially roses.
Joan’s mother and my own had been childhood friends, a bond we both appreciated. I will miss this gentle lady and send sincerest condolences to her cherished family.

Joan's energy and interest in the Catonsville Garden Club, the Catonsville Historical Society and our 40+ year old needlework group was an inspiration to many of us.

Joan and I were classmates at Bon Secours. We reconnected in 2007 while I was here from California caring for my Dad.
I feel so fortunate having spent time with her reminiscing and catching up .She was a real sweetheart, spoke with great affection about her family.
I am so deeply sorry to know about her passing.
