

Born on August 25. 1948, in Boston, Massachusetts, Kelly was the son of John and Ann Kinnally. He graduated from Abington High School in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, and attended Hiram Scott College in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. After college, Kelly spent several years abroad traveling through New Zealand, Australia, Southeast Asia, South Asia, the Middle East, and Europe.
Upon his return to the United States, he settled in Maryland, where he met his wife, Janet. Together they built their home in Catonsville where they raised their son, Jack.
Kelly was an avid waterman who spent many years offshore fishing, including winning the Hatteras Blue Marlin Tournament in 1990. Later in life, he shared his love of the water with family and friends, often taking them sailing and crabbing on the Chesapeake Bay. A skilled builder and craftsman, Kelly built and renovated numerous homes over the years. During his time farming in Clarksville, Maryland, he developed a green thumb that he carried throughout his life, taking great pride in his garden, greenhouse, and flower beds surrounding his home.
He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Janet; their son, Jack (Michelle); grandchildren, Thomas and Mackenzie. sisters, Mary Gumkowski, and Cathy (Bill) Markey,, his brother, Michael (Barbara); sisters-in-law Donna (Jim) Seamans, Mary (Ken) Andres, and Teresa (Mark) Clark; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.
Kelly will be remembered for his worldly storytelling, his generosity and willingness to help with any home repair, and above all, his deep love for his family.
