

Joseph, fondly known as Tom, was born to Joseph and Wilma Melkus, on April 14, 1953, in Cedar Grove, West Virginia. He was raised in Davis, West Virginia and after graduating high school moved to Baltimore, Maryland. Tom was a hard-working man of many trades, having been a jeweler, then construction and later owned his own landscaping business. He was a devoted family man who selflessly cared for others.
Tom is survived by his wife Linda, two children, David (Lauren) and Brian (Jami) and grandchildren Brooklyn and Jackson. He is also survived by his sisters, Nancy Melkus-Criniti and Mary Crowl, brothers, Edward and Karl (Katrina) Melkus, and his nieces and nephews. Tom was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Patricia.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Monday, September 18, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Sterling-Ashton-Schwab-Witzke Funeral Home, 1630 Edmondson Ave, Catonsville, Maryland or on Wednesday, September 20 from 4:00 p.m to 7:00 p.m. at Hinkle-Fenner Funeral Home, 567 Thomas Ave, Davis, West Virginia.
