It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joyce Kay Jefferson, who departed this life on October 21, 2025, at the age of 79. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, on November 22, 1945, Joyce lived a life marked by kindness, compassion, and unwavering faith.
Joyce worked for many years at St. Joseph’s Hospital as a phlebotomist, where she served her community with dedication and care. She was known for her kind and gentle soul, and for the deep love she had for the Lord.
Her faith was the foundation of her life, guiding her actions and inspiring those around her. Joyce’s warmth, humility, and quiet strength left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.
In addition to her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by her sisters Norma Smelser, Ruth Jefferson, and Judy Harden, and her brothers Earl Jefferson and Charles Jefferson.
She is survived by a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins, all of whom will carry forward her legacy of love, faith, and kindness.
Joyce will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who were blessed to know her.
Receiving of friends will be held on November 8, 2025, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Sterling Ashton Schwab Witzke Funeral Home of Catonsville Inc., located at 1630 Edmondson Ave., Catonsville, MD 21228. A memorial service will follow at the same venue, starting at 2:00 pm.
