It is with profound sadness that the family of Louetta Neighoff announces her passing. Louetta departed this life surrounded by love, leaving behind a legacy defined by faith, unwavering kindness and devotion to her family and friends.
Louetta was born in Weston, West Virginia, and later moved to Woodlawn, Maryland, during her teenage years. At the age of 23, she met the love of her life, Fred Neighoff. Together, they shared 54 years of marriage, building a life centered on love, faith, and family.
In her early years, Louetta was employed by the Social Security Administration. She later dedicated herself fully to raising her three children, creating a warm and welcoming home not only for her family but for many friends and neighbors. Her kitchen was a place of warm comfort, where meals were lovingly prepared and shared with all who entered. Her home became a sanctuary filled with hospitality, laughter, and care. She also loved to travel, often planning exotic trips to unique locales long before the internet made it easy.
Louetta’s life was marked by quiet strength, selfless service, and deep compassion. She was a source of wisdom, grace, and generosity, and her presence left a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing her. She loved her husband, children and grandchildren and dedicated her life to selflessly guiding and supporting them in all their life pursuits and careers.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Tawney and Rhoda Belle Tawney, and her sister, Janet Ryan. She is survived by her beloved husband, Fred Neighoff; her children, Julie Neighoff, Robert Neighoff (Elizabeth), and Matt Neighoff (Courtney); and her cherished grandchildren, Stella Neighoff, Cameron Neighoff, and Elijah Neighoff. Louetta is also survived by her siblings, Thomas Tawney II (Susan), Linda Phillips (Richard), and Laurie Dedrickson (Russ), as well as numerous extended family members and dear friends.
