Peggy was born December 14, 1931, in Baltimore, Maryland to George and Margaret Lotz. Peggy graduated from The Catholic High School of Baltimore in 1949, where she learned accounting, and worked for several years as a bookkeeper for a Baltimore firm. She met her future husband, Herbert "Herb" James Burns, Jr., a pharmacist, and worked in his pharmacy, Howard & Morris Pharmacists, as a bookkeeper and clerk in Catonsville, Maryland from the 1960's through the 1990's.
Peggy greatly enjoyed the company of friends, and especially looked forward to attending her high school luncheon reunions for many years. She and Herb enjoyed taking trips with friends, and she was a very active participant at the Ellicott City Senior Center, taking aerobics classes and attending events for many years.
Peggy is survived by two daughters, Suzan Zins and Pam Muhler, her son-in-law, Mark Muhler, and grandchildren, Zach Burns, Graham Muhler, Maddie Zins, Kate Burns, Eliza Muhler, and Anna Burns. She was predeceased by her husband Herb (2009) and her son Michael (2023).
A visitation for Peggy will be held Thursday, May 22, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at St. Alphonsus Rodriguez Catholic Church, 10800 Old Court Rd, Maryland, MD 21163. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 12:00 PM. Interment in St. Alphonsus Rodriguez Church Cemetery.
