On the morning of June 28, 2020 Margaret “Peg” Elizabeth Thrailkill of Frederick, Maryland went to be with the Lord at the age of 86.

Margaret was born in 1934 to Alice and Earl Harris in Fostoria, Ohio. She married Donald Paul Thrailkill in 1954, and they settled in Laurel, Maryland where they raised their four children. Margaret worked as a secretary for Prince Georges County Mental Health Department, and upon finishing her Associates Degree at Anne Arundel Community College, she worked as a secretary for Anne Arundel Public Schools until her retirement. At that time, Margaret, Don, and their youngest, Jenny, moved to West Virginia where they were active in their church, Pikeside United Methodist Church.

An avid quilter, Margaret also enjoyed sewing, crocheting, baking, and playing backgammon and cribbage, but her passion was for her family. She was a stay-at-home mom for nearly 20 years where she made her children’s clothes, packed lunches, played games, made bread, and created a loving home. Later in life, each summer, her grandchildren took turns spending weeks in West Virginia sightseeing, learning to cook, playing games, and attending Vacation Bible School. Margaret was known for her warm smile and her honesty.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Alice; her father, Earl; her husband, Don; her sister, Pat; and her grandson, Dan. She is survived by her children, Marie, Becky [Bobby], Paul [Christy], and Jenny; her grandchildren, Lauren, Kaytee, Josh, Tim, Alex, and Cole, her five great grandchildren; her brother, Wayne, and several nieces, and nephews.

Family will receive friends on Friday, July 3rd from 12-1PM at the Sterling-Ashton-Schwab-Witzke Funeral Home of Catonsville, Inc., 1630 Edmondson Avenue, Catonsville, MD 21228. A funeral service will follow at 1PM. Interment at Maryland National Memorial Cemetery in Laurel, MD.

Donations may be made to Lorien Mt. Airy, 713 Midway Avenue, Mt. Airy, MD 21771 because of the wonderful care they give her daughter, Jenny, every day or to the Alzheimer's Association, alz.org, because of the amazing work they do for such a terrible disease.
