Born on December 8, 1934, in Scranton, Pennsylvania, Marion was the youngest of 5 siblings. She lived a life grounded in faith, family, and friendship. A devout lifelong Catholic, her unwavering belief guided her through every season of life, offering strength, grace, and compassion to those around her.
Marion was the proud and loving mother of Marylynn Smith (the late Mark Smith); Carol Ann Dix (Ron); Patti; and Laurie Fink (Rick). She found endless joy in her grandchildren: Jason and Buddy Dix; Tyler, Lindsay, and Nick Fink. Her heart held a special place for her great-grandchildren, Cody and Kaiden. She was predeceased by her husband William (Bumper) and her beloved granddaughter, Krissy, whose memory she carried tenderly.
Marion and Bill raised their family in Woodlawn, a place where Moms watched over all the neighborhood kids. These same kids have been a recent source of support in memories shared after her passing. Marion is still remembered by the neighborhood kids and work friends for her baking talents, namely chocolate chip cookies and chocolate Texas sheet cakes baked for many celebrations.
Known for her quick smile, warm heart, and love of singing, Marion enjoyed bowling and playing softball in her younger years. She formed deep and lasting friendships during her time living in Woodlawn and working at SSA Credit Union. Marion’s family connections always remained a vital part of her life.
Marion’s love for her family was the center of her world, and she built a legacy of kindness, humor, and resilience that will continue through all who knew and loved her.
