Hopefully this is not weird to post, but my name is Simon and I purchased Mark’s boat, “Lunasea” last year from him. I got to spend a little time speaking with him and having him walk me through the boat. In that short time, he showed me how nice he was, what he was going through, etc and my heart went out to him and his wife. I just learned of his passing today, and wanted to say I was touched to see his pic with the boat. I wanted to post up a pic of his boat with my parents, whom I bought it for (along with my nieces). We kept the name as we all felt it was fitting, and I hope to keep it going for many more years in Mark’s memory. This is my first boat, and I took it from Mark’s home port up to Atlantic City NJ with no issues, which showed how well Mark took care of it. Please know that Mark’s memory and boat will continue to live on here. My family and I express our condolences to the entire Biernack family. After reading his obit and messages here, Mark sounded like an amazing guy and a great grandpop.

you should be getting ready for boating season big guy. two months ago you sailed on seas we could not sail with you. I know you will captain the new journey with the skill and sense of adventure  you sailed the chesapeake bay. I will have the shot to remember all our boating fun with you and Pat  next to me and Simon so many nights on the pier..  you and pat always looking out for us while Mike worked or slept at home. You are misssed...

Mark was my childhood best buddy, friend through high school, a friend I was fortunate to reconnect with several years later and eventually had the pleasure of working with. I feel lucky to have know such an easy going and upbeat person for so long. Mark you will be deeply missed and I hope we reconnect in the after life.

Sorry we didn't keep in touch. I'll never forget riding around in the 65 and listening to the Moody Blues. Well there ya go...you made it to The Land of Make Believe.

Mark,  I am so sorry to lose you from this world. I am only sad for all of us left behind. I bet  you can see your family both here and there and you are well again. You were never as social as your twin, but I am really hoping you send all of us a message - a song, a penny, red cardinal or dove, something so we clearly know it’s you. How about a 65. That would be something. You were very special to me. I will never forget our talks, you driving my car into water, you working for my dad and how you and your brother helped him understand how it would feel to have sons. The Biernacks, all of them, Lola, Norbert,  Michael,  Marty, Mark and Sharon. Loved this entire family. Spent much of my time as a teenager at their house, alot more there than at mine. Always something going on. Lots of great memories with the boys, their cars, the old chevys. Fun times for sure. Good memories. So sorry for your loss, prayers to the family.

From my bucket list..the master of the grill and wings with the bar b q sauce from the gods...the one who was never too busy to help anyone...the one who stole the heart of his beloved pat and who still loved like teenagers...the one who opened the season with our shot of chamboard and who closed it each year the same way..the one who bravely faced this battle with dignity and courage being strong for his 3 girls...we love you all...
