How do I say goodbye to you Martin!  Your smile alone would light up the dreariest of days.  No matter how many times a day you would pass by, I was greeted with a smile and a hello.. Thank you for everything that you were.  Your spirit will live on in me forever.  Not a moment has gone by that I haven't thought of you.  I will always cherish your Mi Casa Restaurant story that you shared with me.  I am so glad that your family had such a beautiful tradition since adopting your daughter.  I will miss you terribly, I already do.  Good Night my friend, until we meet again!

Mary brought me down from Connecticut to work for him. I enjoyed working with him bath as my  boss and as a colleague.

My husband and I offer our condolences on the death of Martin.  We knew him as the "room scheduler" at Charlestown. If you needed a room for a meeting or activity, call Marty. He never failed me when I requested space as a club leader and council leader. He was always a smiling presence and known for his hard work and gentle spirit. He will be missed.

I am truly sorry to hear of your loss.  My thoughts and prayers go out to your entire family.  While I did not know Mr. Buker I have had the opportunity of getting to know and working with both Brian and Michelle over the years. In a company as young as ours (1983-), with residents who make us feel young every day, we are humbled when one of our Resident Life leaders suddenly passes away. On Saturday, we bade farewell one of the most cheerful, hard-working gentlemen that has ever worn the Resident Life wardrobe. Residents loved Martin; staff loved Martin  and now a young widow, three married sons, a college-aged daughter, and nine greats and grands are saying farewell to the main man in their lives. How did Saint Paul say it? "We esteem him highly in love for his work's sake" (1 Thessalonians 5:13). How did Jesus say it: "Let not your heart be troubled. You believe in God. Believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions. If it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you unto myself that where I am, there you may be also" (John 14:1-3).

I am very sorry for your loss. Please keep leaning on God, because he is away there to comfort you PSALMS 91:2

We only new Martin for a short time since we moved into Charlestown but he was always working hard, friendly and smiling.  We saw him almost every day walking the halls.  He will be missed.
