On July 29, 2012, Merlin Robert Buterbaugh (Master Sergeant U.S.M.C. Ret.) Beloved husband of the late Theresa M. Buterbaugh. Devoted father of Mary Ellen Granruth and husband Frederick, Janyce Smalley and husband Richard, and Karen Buterbaugh and Robert Jones. Grandfather of J. Robert Rixham and wife Lora Sue Smart, Jennifer Byers and husband Chad, Ian R. Smalley, and Jordan Jackson Jones. Great-grandfather of Carson Byers and Bennett Byers.
Family will receive friends at Sterling Ashton Schwab Witzke Funeral Home of Catonsville, Inc., 1630 Edmondson Ave., Catonsville, MD 21228 on Saturday from 10 to 12 noon and 2 to 4pm, where prayer services will be held at 3:30pm. Interment Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
