Dear Michael,  You came into my life over 26 years ago. You made my Mother so happy for the first you treated her like a queen. At that time I was pregnant with my first child Michael. When he was born you held him in your and in your heart. and than came my came my daughter Erika. From the moment on you were a wonderful Husband , Father, Grandfather, and later to come Great Grandfather. You were truly one of a kind and no one could ever replace you. You seta perfect example for my children to follow. They looked up to you as a Father figure in their lives. You taught them Love, Honesty, Dignity, and Respect. I will never forget receiving random letters in the mail from you just to say how much you loved me and what good job I was doing raising my children, that made me feel so proud to be your daughter. I remember you coaching Michael's little league baseball. you taught him how to play and to be a good sport while playing. He loved you so very much. And Erika " Your Princess" was always so happy when we would come visit you and Mommy. You had my little girl wrapped right around your finger. When anyone ever needed you for anything you were always there. Whether it was to give help or just to give some wise advice.  I know it in my heart that my children would not have turned out the way they have if you had not been in their lives to teach morales, values, honor and dignity. They learned a lot in just the way you lived your life. Now they are adult children who no right from wrong and are raising their own children. They learned a lot of life skills from you. Michael to watch you fade away and leave us the way you did really left an empty whole in my heart. But I know you are now at peace. God has called you home.      You were the most proud and dedicated stepfather god could of ever introduced to my life.  Not only were you my "father" but such a cherished "friend".  I remember going to the doctors, which was not always very fun for you, but the special times we spent over lunch just chatting were very awesome.  I always felt so comfortable talking to you and never felt judged.  Sometimes I would get to laughing so hard about random things, I would have tears in my eyes.  Now, I have a different kind of tears from the void that was left in my heart.  Please watch over me, Timmy, Tyler, "Gabby" and Brittany.  You always told me that I was your angel and its the little things in life that mean the most. Those two things I will never forget! Oh my gosh, I just looked at this site for someone else I know who passed and saw Mike's name.  I am Nancy Butler Parsons and am absolutely stunned that Mike has passed.  Mike, Sally, my brother Bruce and I were childhood friends.  I actually have no words right now.  I last saw Mike when he came for visitation when my Dad died last June. Rest in peace to my stepfather Michael. Now the wind can always be at your back. You will be missed my many. You were an inspiration to many. No matter what has happened along the road the final destination was always love. The girls send kisses to the sky.

To my wonderful uncle,  as early as my childhood memories can serve you have been a constant,  always the fun uncle bringing pretzels and ice cream when you visited to the uncle that was there no matter the occasion as I grew older this didn't change,  for my wedding although you could not make it, you surprised us and cruised to Bermuda with us. That trip will always be so special. Our long walk in the pouring rain to a sunny beach and the best part the laughs we had doing it! Also, you and aunt linda coming to the hospital to welcome the births of our children.  Such special memories but most of all I will miss your enthusiastic voice and kind heart.  You encouraged Chris and I to be strong no matter what life's osticales are. I will always admire the man you were and your love will be with me forever.  I miss you dearly but know your suffering has ended and you're an angel now.  Please keep sending us signs your with us. As we looked up at the beautiful sky last night we could feel your presence. Dear Uncle Mike, It is hard to sum the man you were and helped me to become into words.  I married into this wonderful family in 2009 and gained an amazing Uncle in the process.  I will always remember how much you believed in me and told me I was "Your Hero." That fact is that you were MY hero. Your strong beliefs and convictions showed what an awesome man you were. Every year you supported my Quests whether they be Walk MS or Bike MS and had faith that I could complete every challenge set forth before me. Your support helped give me strength in tough times and trust me, there have been plenty. I will take care of your niece Rachel and our family in a manner that makes you proud. I will miss you, but I will ride each day thinking of you and it will give me strength to always succeed! I love you and know that you are watching over us all!

      As I sit here typing this, I still have a hard time accepting the fact that you are gone. I know this is what you wanted and you are out of pain, but most importantly that you are with our Lord and Savior. You are my angel now and I know you will always be with me because you told me so and if I have ever been able to trust in someone, that someone is you. From the day I was born, you have been there to protect and guide me, and for that I thank you. I wouldn't be the person I am today without your LOVE, GUIDANCE, and SUPPORT. Mya and I were so very blessed to have such an amazing grandfather/great grandfather. Not only were you the greatest pop a girl could ask for, but the most amazing and proud man I have ever met. I am truly honored to call you my pop! You are one of the greatest blessings god could have given me and I wish we had so much more time together. As you watch over me, I promise to make you proud(but your princess will still need your guidance from time to time and when I do I know you will be there). I will carry your love with me everyday. God saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be, so he put out his arms around you and whispered "Come with Me" with tear filled eyes, we watched as you suffered and faded away; although we loved you deeply, we could not will you to stay. A golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands at rest. God broke our hearts to show us, "He only takes the Best"... I would have never grown to be the man I am today without your guidance. We met on august 7,1987 at a dance at the Columbian center. This day I will never forget because it was the day I met the love of my life. You walked across the floor and I fell in love at first sight. The next thing I knew you asked me to dance and held me in your arms for the first time. I only danced two dances with you that night and only knew your first name, but I knew I had to see you again. I went back to the Friday night dance two weeks later, tapped you on the shoulder and said "Do you remember me"? You said "of course" and we spent the rest of the night dancing. That was the beginning of the rest of our lives together. You were my knight and shining armor that I dreamed about all my life. We were married October 29,1988. Not only did you marry me, but you became an instant father to two daughters, a son, and a grandson, whom you willingly accepted with love as your own. The qualities that you posses, not too many men can say they have. You were loving, kind, and generous, and a man with very high integrity. Also, a man that was loyal to his family and country;A true and proud patriotic hero. You took pride in your work because it was very important to you and our country. You had a major role in guiding our children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, who have all become wonderful people and love you so much. You were always there for them when they needed you. We were so fortunate to be able to travel many places and have a wonderful time together.There is no one else like you in this world, you were one of a kind and I was so blessed to be your wife, even if it felt like such a short time. You will always be with me and in my heart. I will love you with all my heart for the rest of my life "Sweetie" and miss you more than words can express.
