Patricia P. Henshall of Catonsville, MD, known as Kate to family and friends, formerly of Nottingham Road in Baltimore, MD, died on June 28 at Charlestown Senior Living Community. She was born on December 26, 1930, to Anna Kennedy Plack and Martin C. Plack of Forest Hills, PA, a suburb of Pittsburgh. Loving wife of 64 years to the late Arthur Thomas Henshall, Kate is survived by her brother, Frederick William (Bill) Plack of Irwin, PA and his wife Kathie and her loving niece and caregiver, Marilyn (McWilliams) Coleman and her husband W. Stephen Coleman. She was predeceased by her two sisters and a brother, Jeanne P. McWilliams, Martin C. Plack, Jr., and Barbara Woodhall. She was aunt to Bill McWilliams, Patricia Getz, Jean Dames, Philip Plack and the late James Plack; Tim Woodhall, Kathleen Woodhall Atkinson, John Woodhall, Barbara Eicheldinger and Max Woodhall; and Bill Plack, Andrew Plack and John Plack.
Kate enjoyed gourmet cooking and hosting dinners at her home, the fellowship of friends at St. Bartholomew’s Episcopal Church in Baltimore and she and Arthur drew much joy from the cats that were a cherished part of their life together. The family wishes to extend thanks to the caregivers at Charlestown Senior Living Community in Catonsville, especially those who cared for Kate at Caton Woods and Wilton Overlook over the past year, and to the nurses, aides and chaplain from Gilchrist Hospice Care who provided compassionate and expert care to Kate in recent days and were a source of comfort to Marilyn.
There will be a celebration of Patricia "Kate" Henshall's life on Thursday, July 18 at 11am at St. Bartholomew's Episcopal Church, 4711 Edmondson Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21229. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Kate may be made to St. Bartholomew's Episcopal Church, 4711 Edmondson Ave., Baltimore, MD 21229
