Paul Henry Mountcastle, 92, passed away on peacefully Thursday, November 10, 2022. Born and raised in Raymond, Washington, he lived most of his life in Maryland. Paul was a loving and loyal and true to his word. While serving in the Army at Ft. Monmouth in 1951, he went with a buddy to a St. Patrick's dance in Greenpoint (Brooklyn) and caught his first glimpse of Ellen McNamara. For Paul, it was love at first sight and he set about convincing her to take him seriously. They married in 1954 and raised 5 children together. Paul was inventive and resourceful at home, always at work on some wonderful feature for the backyard -- a magnificent teeter-totter made from the trunk of a huge tree he had felled for himself, a pond with a small waterfall that attracted frogs and dragonflies and turtles. During his 30+ years with Westinghouse Aerospace, he contributed to the development of defense technology that keeps the U.S. military personnel safe in the skies. Paul is survived by all five of his children and their spouses -- John & Deb Mountcastle; Paul & Sun Mountcastle; Maisie & Joe Prussak; James & Julie Mountcastle and Eliza & Paresh Shah and by his beloved grandchildren -- Emma, Tristan, Ellie, Katie, Malulani & Paul Mountcastle; Hira, Eli, Kiran & Mareen Shah and Martin & Thomas Prussak-Kvalo.
