Richard G. McQuay
January 22, 1922 – May 12, 2020
On May 12, 2020; RICHARD G. MCQUAY passed away. He was the beloved husband for 71 years of the late Genevieve McQuay (nee Zalegiris); loving father of Katherine McQuay Lewis, of Bethesda; devoted grandfather of Alex Preston Lewis, of Bethesda; and dear brother of the late Earl McQuay.
Richard grew up in West Baltimore and graduated from City High School. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army. He fought in World War II, becoming a staff sergeant and serving in both France and Germany. He was also called back for the Korean War.
After the war he graduated from the University of Baltimore and spent his career as a management analyst at First Army Headquarters at Ft. Meade, Maryland.
Richard was a member of Boumi Temple and was a 32nd degree Mason. He loved music (Sinatra, Tony Bennett, and Nat King Cole were his favorites) and was a terrific (and frequent!) singer.
He was a life-long member of Christian Temple and loved his church family. Most of all, he loved and lived for his wife, daughter, and grandson. He will be missed.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Christian Temple, 5820 Edmondson Avenue, Catonsville, MD 21228.

I am so sorry to here this news...although Dick lived a very fulfilling life to an impressive age, he will be missed. He is one of the most engaging men I have ever known...easy to talk with, a good listener. A rare gentleman, with a great sense of humor. A man's man. My deepest condolences to Katherine and her family. I will never forget Dick.
