He was born and raised in Baltimore, MD, by John and Agnes Rose Kiel, along with older brother Charles. After graduating from Loyola College with a degree in electrical engineering, he had a distinguished, 35 year career with the U.S. Government. Along the way he enjoyed fishing, boating, cycling, skiing, traveling, and watching the Ravens.
He is survived by his children Robert(Laura), William(Judy), Charles; his grandchildren Ryan(Kayla), Jackson(Laura), Erin(Joshua), Hannah, Madeline, Abigail(Steven), Sarah(Brett); his partner Barbara Nichols; her children Elizabeth, Nicholas, David(Lori); her grandchildren Madeline, Alexandra, Riley; and his loving dog Raven.
Family will receive friends from 2-4PM and 6-8PM on Friday, June 28 at the Sterling-Ashton-Schwab-Witzke Funeral Home of Catonsville, Inc., 1630 Edmondson Avenue, Catonsville, MD 21228. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10AM, Saturday, June 29 at the Chapel at Church of the Resurrection, 3175 Paulskirk Dr, Ellicott City, MD 21042. Interment in New Cathedral Cemetery.
