Bob was born on June 20, 1940 in Phoenixville, PA to Richard and Elizabeth Whitman. Bob married his beloved wife Patricia (Coscia) Whitman on May 1, 1971 in Bridgeport, PA. Patricia and Bob shared 44 years of blissful marriage. In addition to Patricia, Bob is survived by his daughter Sara (Whitman) Cerminara, son-in-law Kyle Cerminara, grandchildren Colin and Caroline Cerminara, and many friends and family that loved him dearly. Bob was preceded in death by both of his parents.
Bob graduated from the Delaware Valley State College with a degree in Animal Husbandry. He worked in sales management for most of his career, most recently as a Sales Manager at Foss Food Technology. Upon retirement, Bob enjoyed being Santa Claus during the holiday season, sometimes for fun and family, and sometimes for work at Arundel Mills Mall in Hanover, Maryland. One of Bob's many God-given talents was that he looked exactly like Old Saint Nick.
Bob enjoyed fishing, traveling, and civil war reenacting. His favorite places on earth included Custer State Park in South Dakota and Alaska. Bob also loved horses and NFL football. His favorite teams included the Baltimore ravens and any team playing against the Washington Redskins.
Bob brought joy and laughter wherever he went. Bob was quick to give a witty toast at family gatherings and looked forward to spending the holiday season with friends and family. His spirit and enthusiasm for everything Christmas will be missed by all.
The family will receive friends from 11AM to 1PM on Saturday, September 19, 2015 at Sterling-Ashton-Schwab-Witzke Funeral Home of Catonsville, Inc., 1630 Edmondson Avenue, Catonsville, MD 21228. Interment is private.
In lieu of flowers, his family requests that donations be made in his memory to The Woodlawn School, Attn: Development, P.O. Box 549, Davidson, NC 28036 (woodlawnschool.org/support) to help build a playground where his grandchildren go to school.
