Ronald E. DeGrange

Ronald Elwood DeGrange, 66, Of Westminster, MD passed away on Feb. 8, 2016 at Johns Hopkins Hospital. Born in Frederick on Feb. 10, 1949, he was the son of Robert Elwood DeGrange and Frances Yanos DeGrange.

Ron graduated from St. Johns Literary Institute, Frederick, in 1967, Mount St. Mary’s, Emmitsburg, in 1971 and the University of MD School of Nursing in 1978. He worked for many years as an Intervention Radiology Nurse and retired in 2015 after a long career at Johns Hopkins Hospital.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Straughn, his daughter, Michelle Wilkinson and husband John of Lewes, DE, stepson Jon Straughn and wife Karen of Catonsville, MD, stepson Mark Straughn and wife Jennifer of Catonsville, MD, brother Jerry DeGrange and wife Kathy of Middletown, MD. Ron will also be missed by many grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews as well as his dog and devoted companion, Granger.

The family will receive friends on Friday, February 12 from 3-5 and 7-9 PM and on Saturday, February 13 from 10:00-11:30 at the Sterling-Ashton-Schwab-Witzke Funeral Home, 1630 Edmondson Ave., Catonsville, MD 21228; where a funeral service will follow at 11:30 AM. Interment is private. Donations may be made in his memory to Church of the Nativity, c/o Vision Campaign, 20 E. Ridgely Rd., Lutherville-Timonium, MD 21093.
