
Victor was born September 20, 1920 to Joseph and Lalislawa (Lottie) Wendzinski (Wendt) in Brenham, Texas. He was baptized and conformed in the Catholic Faith.
He was married to Etta Anna Wendt (nee Bell) on December 1, 1950 in Baltimore, Maryland. Victor worked as a Technical Supervisor at Roper Corporation in Baltimore, Maryland and for Sherwin Williams in Elkridge, Maryland after retiring from Roper.
Victor served his country during World War II at the Battle of the Bulge. His service record extended from November 23, 1942 until his Honorable Discharge on July 21, 1945 following wounds received in battle. He was awarded two Purple Hearts and The Bronze Star for exemplary conduct in ground battle against the armed enemy during the Rhineland Campaign in the European Theater of Operations, while assigned as Sergeant, 406th Infantry Regiment.
Victor was also awarded the Jubilee of Liberty Medal from Congressman Robert L. Ehrlich, Jr. on January 12, 2001 to honor his heroism on the beaches of Normandy.
Victor is survived by his wife of 62 years, daughters Alicia Ann Knothe of St. Cloud, Florida and Victoria Jean Wendt of Elkridge, Maryland, son-in-law Ralph Peter Knothe of St. Cloud, Florida, grandchildren Jessica Leigh Ashe of Elkridge, Maryland, Michaelene (Micki) Frances DuBois of Shrewsbury, Pennsylvania, Matthew Joseph Ditzel of Cary, North Carolina, Christopher Michael Knothe and Stephen Alexander Knothe of St. Cloud, Florida, 2 Great-grandchildren Victor Q. DuBois and Catalina Ann Ditzel, sister-in-law Marietta Bathgate and many nieces and nephews.
Victor was preceded in death by his beloved parents, sister Helen E. Kenjura of Brenham, Texas, Florence Konolav of Lancaster, California and brother Lee Wendt of Baltimore, Maryland.
