On September 28, 2012, William H. “Bill” Lewis Sr., beloved husband of the late Catherine Lewis (nee Corcoran), and brother of the late Frank Lewis and the late Helen Cronin. Bill is survived by his three sons, Paul V. Lewis and Bernard J. Lewis of Baltimore, William H. Lewis Jr. of New Freedom, Pennsylvania and his one daughter, Mary L. Burton of Catonsville, Maryland.
During World War II, Bill served in the medical corps of the U. S. Army in the Pacific theater from 1943 through 1945. Bill worked for 40 years for the C &P Telephone Company in Baltimore before retiring in 1986.
Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Sterling Ashton Schwab Witzke Funeral Home of Catonsville, Inc.,1630 Edmonson Avenue, Catonsville, MD 21228 on Thursday, October 11, 2012 from 3 to 5PM and 7 to 9PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 5422 Old Frederick Road, Baltimore, MD 21229 on Friday, October 12, 2012 at 10:00 AM. Interment will immediately follow at the New Cathedral Cemetery, Baltimore, MD.
