DuPont reunion?

I loved uncle Albert. He always made me feel like he was so glad to see me. I remember walking around Grandpa ‘s house by plum creek and him talking to me and teasing me. He was special and loved.

I remember sitting on Grandpa's lap when I was little, looking into his big blue eyes, and seeing a small hole in his skin. I asked him, "Grandpa what happened there?" Pointing out the spot I had seen. Grandpa replied, "that's where the Indian shot me, luckily only the tip of his arrow got me in the face."
I responded by pulling up my shirt, and showing him my belly scar. I told him, "that's where the sharp glass got me! I guess we're scar friends!" We carried that on for years. Grandpa was a wonderful man!

So sorry to hear of your loss. Al always seemed to have a smile for folks. My condolences. Sally Dale

Mr.  Gelroth was a wonderful and kind spirit.  He loved all of us kids in Louviers like we were his own.  I really enjoyed sitting with him watching the men play softball.  He always had a warm handshake or a hug with a smile on his face.  You could tell how much he loved his family and the all the people around him.  Thanks for modeling the second greatest commandment Albert.  Loving one another.  
You got it right.

Grandpa always had a way of fixing things, there were many inventions he cleverly came up with to make sure his family was enriched and taken care of.  So many admirable traits, a stern intellect, a warm smile and those blue eyes that always found reason. You will always be in our hearts!

Uncle Al teased me most of my childhood...my name is Stephen but Uncle Al always called me Step Hen...It was shortened to Step in my later years...It made me feel special...he always greeted me with a kiss...I’ll miss his greetings and his stories...what I won’t miss is him kicking my butt at horseshoes...
