Alvene B. Young, of Englewood, Colorado, age 100, passed away early Wednesday morning, December 5, 2018. She was born in Dighton, Kansas to the late Richard Leo and Laura Blakey on March 9, 1918. Alvene was predeased by her husband of 50 years, Donald E. Young.
She is survived by her two daughters, Nancy (Michel) Williams of Centennial, Colorado and Barbara Joan (Royal) Bettis of Kent, WA; her granddaughter, Katrina Bettis and grandsons Matthew (Mandy) Williams, Andrew (Alison) Willams, Timothy (Tiffani) Bettis. Also five great grand children; Alexa, Luke, Lilliana, Elliott, and Emerson.
Alvene was a loving wife and Mother; she was a devoted homemaker. She enjoyed spending time with her family and she loved the Lord. She was an active member of Bethany Evangelical Free Church. She taught Sunday School and was a community volunteer when her daughters were young. She enjoyed reading, traveling, and camping with her husband.
Proverbs 31:28 - Her children will rise up, and call her blessed, her husband also praises her.
A woman that fears the LORD, she shall be praised.
A small graveside service to include family and friends will be held at Fort Logan National Cemetery, Denver. Colorado. Memorial donations may be made to Missions at Bethany Evangelical Free Church, 6240 S. Broadway, Centennial, CO 80121.
